Activity Analysis
Business Objects PCM is a web-based ABC application with pre-defined dimensionality for fast out-of the-box model building including 5 cost object dimensions and a capacity dimension. It offers rapid modeling through default assignments, (with override options at multiple levels including department, period, and version) and flexible allocation of methodologies - time-splits and time-driven costing with built-in wizards to make writing time equations quick and easy.
Using an ABC engine, PCM provides clear insight into customer, product, and channel profitability, and is a core component of enterprise performance management (EPM). The ability of PCM to accurately determine costs also aids in the costing and cross-charging of shared services like IT, HR, and finance.
PCM comes with its own Data Bridge for extracting and loading data and Work Manager, a tool to schedule and manage data collection and submission routines.

Driver Based and Activity Based Planning and Budgeting

Business Objects IT Services Costing is a pre-defined set built inside PCM, specifically for the needs of costing and cross charging IT services. It offers automatic charge-back mechanisms with invoice distribution showing full-cost breakdowns by department or business unit, so internal customers know just what they are being charged for. It has the ability to report to ITIL and other standard IT services directories.
